- Curator's comments
- A great amount of objects from El Argar was found either inside the walled structures or amongst the associated debris without any further details being given by the excavators. The British Museum collection has several objects from this context. The objects found by the Siret brothers and classified as “outside the graves” included stone artefacts such as chisels, stone bracelets, beads, querns, hammers and wrist-guards (1889,0704.89-105,108-112,128-131); objects made from ivory and bone (1889,0704.113-120,125-127,133); marine shells and beads (1889,0704.106,107,121-124); terracotta objects, pottery vessels (1889,0704.139-142); copper alloy utensils such as arrowheads, daggers and knifes (1889,0704.133-138)and also artefacts classified as crucibles (1889,0704.132).
