The counter with pull and push knobs at opposite ends of a single rod operating a rachet. The three pedometer dials are each 40 mm in diameter. Top left 0-100 double paces, top right 0-1000, bottom 0-10,000. There are additional hand-operated calendars showing through apertures:
1. Years 1690-1701.
2. Name of month, with zodiac sign and number of days in month. On the same hidden disc the times of sunrise and sunset show through apertures in the 10s and 1000s dials.
3. Arc linking dates with symbols of days of the week, covering seven days.
Signed: 'MT Hager, Arnstad', the MTH being in the form of a monogram.`
