Description
Straight-sided albarello with two hollow handles (one broken) resting on sphinxes; between them applied relief faces (one lost). Earthenware covered on the outside with a brown, opaque (tin?) glaze. Painted decoration; garlands round the relief faces. Rest of field has scrolling tendrils with flowers on an orange ground. Extensive damage and glaze loss.
