- Curator's comments
- The naturalistic flower painting on this octagonal teabowl and milk jug was after fashionable floral decorations on Meissen and Vincennes porcelain, c.1740. The peach-shape was inspired by Chinese and Japanese objects; in Asia the peach was a symbol of immortality.
