- The model is in the Tassie and Raspe catalogue of 1791 as nos. 13960, described as ‘Louis XIV, King of France.’
The model is listed in the 1787 Wedgwood catalogue of cameos and intaglios, under Modern Subjects, Class I, Section II, as ’226 Louis XIV, and in the 1779 Wedgwood and Bentley catalogue, as ‘226, Louis XIV, head’, wife of Nero, head.’, but is skipped over in the 1773 Wedgwood and Bentley catalogue.
