Description
Tile; tin-glazed earthenware; square; transfer-printed in black; trelliswork border hung with trophies and emblems; title on ribbon above and below subject; Mrs (Ann) Barry as Athenais in Nathaniel Lee's Theodosius; one of a frame of twenty tiles. Based on a print after James Roberts, engraved by John Thornthwaite and dated 12 December 1776, published by John Bell in 'Bell's British Theatre'.
