Seal-matrix for Gerhardt of Eppenstein; bronze; circular.
Obverse: knight to the right on a horse with a shield of arms chevronny in his right hand, covering the upper part of his body. In his left hand a lance with banner chevronny, pointing to the top and touching the inscription. Knight wears a helmet with closed visor. Four triangles made of three dots in field, two underneath the horse, two on the left side.
Hind legs of horse reaching into inscription. Inscription in legend, within linear borders.
Loop at top.

There is Eppstein in Germany, near Frankfurt am Main, but there is also an Eppenstein in Styria, Austria.
