Box, pyxis; ivory; formerly with a locked cover, now missing; on one side Daniel stands with hands raised in the attitude of an orans beneath a canopy supported by four square columns; to the right stands a guard with staff; from the left a flying angel leads a figure (Habbakuk) by the hair, who holds a bowl of bread and pottage for the prophet; on the ground below is a basket; on the other side, an angel walking to right points to a ram which stands by a palm tree; behind the angel a female figure moves to left; before her, in a rectangular space left by the lock, is a cross between two swans.
