Seal-matrix for Indulgences of the Augustinian Abbey of St Rufus, Valence; bronze; circular; hexagonal handle, loop at end wanting; engraved star on side corresponding to top of device; Annunciation, angel on left, kneeling on one knee, holding inscribed scroll; Virgin standing with hand of God above her head; lily-pot in middle over shield of arms: agnus dei contourné; inscription; with wax impression.

- The Canons Regular of St Rufus, founded at Avignon in 1039, opened at Valence in 1158 a house which became their mother-house in 1210 (See The Catholic encyclopedia, volume 15; Encyclopedia Press, 1913).
