- Description

Pottery vase with wide funnel neck, and two handles. It has a simple rim, rounded body and a flat base. There is a ?degenerate knob ornament on the belly consisting of groups of shallow vertical arcs, inclined in opposite directions. Above the base there are circumferential grooves. Both surfaces are polished: the external surface is yellow-brown and grey and the internal surface is grey-yellow. One handle is lacking.

Barrow cemetery/ies: in royal forest (2, 5: according to Klemm's labels; see also Wagner, F.A., 1833, ‘Aegypten in Deutschland oder die germanisch-slavischen wo nicht rein germanischen Alterthümer an der schwarzen Elster’, Leipzig, 24-6).
Discovered November 1835 (5: according to Klemm's label); dug up by Janke, presented by Wagner (3: according to Wagner's label, ‘Schlieben’).
