One half of a clasp ('tröjspänne') for a jacket, silver-gilt, an openwork foliate boss within a ring of twisted wire; from the centre of the boss hangs a domed disc, and at the side, a vertical bar with scrolling foliate motifs with a loop for fastening from which hangs an Ave Maria monogram pendant.

- 'Received from the Trustees of the Christy Collection in exchange for duplicates from Haslar Hospital.' (acquisitions register for 1868,0309). For explanation see 1868,0309.4.
The register also notes that these pieces were 'all from Norway'; they are all made in Sweden. Norway was still united to Sweden until 1905 which may explain the confusion.
