Description
Circluar silver Judicial seal-matrix for Wales. Two pieces for obverse and reverse respectively, with three loops and pegs (one broken); raised border. Obverse: The King (George III) in plate armour, bare-headed riding to right, his sword sloped in his left hand. Behind, in the field, the Prince of Wales's feathers. Below, a landscape with a gateway and harbour. Legend. Carved outer border. Reverse: The Royal arms of England (1714-1801) with a stag and greyhound as supporters. Below, within scrolls, the Prince of Wales's feathers. Legend. Carved outer border. London marks, date-letter for 1817-18, and stamp. Plaster impression of each.
