An incomplete, lead alloy pilgrim badge depicting an arched canopy elaborately decorated in open-work with trefoil crockets, beaded edges and animal heads at each side of the springing of the arch, finally decorated by a turret. This probably enclosed a standing figure or effigy of St Thomas Becket and is associated with his shrine at Canterbury.

In his unpublished catalogue of London Pilgrim Badges, Spncer says that the heads on either side of the arch are devils' heads. May 1996
