Description
Shallow bowl on low foot with a slight moulding round the foot. Earthenware covered front and back with presumed tin glaze. Front painted with a landscape with buildings: in the centre a hillock with an arched opening; a man attacks a woman with a knife; two winged putti leave the scene. After Bandinelli's 'Massacre of the Innocents'.

Cioci, La Villa Imperiale 2009, p. 68 illustrates and describes this dish saying it shows Francesco Maria della Rovere running away, fleeing following the attack on his mother, Rome-Venus at centre.
