Plaque, square; Limoges painted enamel on copper: One of a series of Twelve Sibyls, all with central half figure in Renaissance dress, identified by attribute and scroll, within a bound laurel wreath, the corners with foliate ornament: the Persian Sybil (Sybila Persica) with a lantern. Painted in polychrome enamels on a dark ground, the corners in trnaslucent coloured enamel over foil; details gilt. Counter enamel translucent and colourless.
