Bronze gilt Admiralty circular seal-matrix for John Holland. It has a hexagonal conical handle, the top broken off. A single-masted ship on the sea; the mainsail charged with the arms of Holland (three lions passant guardant and a bordure); a lantern hanging at the stern; in the field three wheat-ears. Legend. Four impressions.

In 1435 John Holland was appointed Admiral of England, Ireland and Aquitaine for life. The grant of the earldom of Ivry was conferred on him probably about 1445.
