Description
Broad-rimmed bowl or plate with well. Earthenware covered with a presumed tin-glaze on the front and back. Painted decoration with red and golden lustre. In the well a shield of arms; Vitelli impaling Della Staffa, for Niccolo Vitelli and Gentilina Della Staffa; quarterly 1 & 4 blue a crescent in golden lustre, 2 & 3 chequy red lustre and white; all impaling lustre a stirrup grey collared with a coronet; crest a calf couchant, in its dexter hoof a green palm branch. Arms for Niccolo Vitelli and Gentilina Della Staffa.
