Copper alloy sheet metal mount in the form of a stylised horse's head. Sub-rectangular in outline, convex in section, with features exectuted in low relief and two lateral tabs for attachment. Made to be attached to a wooden object, possibly a bucket.

- Curator's comments
- Copper alloy fittings from the 1843 hoard, such as the three 'masks' (1847,0208.82-4) and the narrow, curved strips tooled with a feather pattern (1847,0208.100), may have been decorative elements on the large stave-built vessel or 'bucket' with straight or near-straight sides identified from the iron binding strips (under 1847,0208.163) by Fitts et al. (1999, 41-46, fig 26).
