- Description
-
Copper alloy fitting, three fragments. These fragments attach to 1847,0208.60 ('part 1'). Together these four fragments would have formed a hinged, U-shaped fitting, possibly a rein hook from harness.
'Part 2', the terminal, consists of two rings, joined by strap bar with decorative guard on one side, and leading on the other side to a longer shank. This would have attached to 'part 4' a shorter length of shank, terminating in a hinge. This hinge articulates with 'part 3', another shank section terminating in a hinge. 'Part 3' joins 'part 1', the second terminal, which is registered as 1847,0208.60. Cast, with ribbed moulding along each edge of the shanks on the upper side.
