Part of decorated Samian Ware bowl with rim but no foot. Decoration in panels with borders of beads ending in rosettes; above, egg-and-tassel between rows of beads. 1) Double panel: a) Gryphon to left with eagle's beak, lion's body, and wings addorsed; in the field, reel-ornament; b) hind-legs of bear to left. 2) Large panel: On the left Artemis to right, with long girt chiton, high boots, and bow in left hand, holding by the fore-paws a hind which stands erect, looking back; on the right, Satyr seated to left on part of a wall, holding up a drinking-horn in right hand from which he is about to drink, in his left a wine-skin(?); in the field, three ornaments. 3) Double panel: in the upper compartment, Gryphon to right; in the field, two reel ornaments; in the lower, bear as in 1), complete. Beyond is 2) repeated.
