- Acquisition notes
- The paintings were presented to the Museum in 1837. 26th September 1837 a letter was laid before the Standing Committee with the paintings. A considerable correspondence with Tongue is preserved in the Museum’s Central Archive. The painting was cleaned and restored in the V&A in 1934 by Mr Cave: see the correspondence of 1934 bound in the P&D reports to Trustees.
