Study of two pottery lamps. Top: decorated with two entertainers performing on a tight-rope, and impressed name 'POMPSOFE' on base (BM Cat. Lamp Q1296). Bottom: decorated with a mimic dance performed by two nude ithyphallic entertainers and impressed name 'λOVKIOY' on base (BM Cat. Lamp Q3251)
Pen and ink with bodycolour and heightened with white on a sheet of paper, which is inlaid into a second sheet; the assemblage framed in a series of pen and red ink borders.
