Pottery amphora in White Painted ware; wheel-made; globular-biconical body on a high, splaying foot (concave underneath); wider cylindrical neck, slightly conical in profile, with a flat, everted rim (chipped); ridge at junction of body and neck; opposing strap handles from shoulder to rim, arching outwards; orange-buff clay with a cream slip (much eroded), decorated in black paint rather poorly executed and also much eroded in places: a single band around the junction of body and neck with on and below two below the inside of the rim, solid foot, ladder pattern on the handles, short strokes on the rim.
