- Description

Pottery: red-figured kylix.
Interior: Within a thin red circle a boy wreathed running to right looking back and holding up his right hand as if to ward off a pursuer. Around, HOΠΑΙΣΚΑΛΟΣ, ό παίς καλός. His feet rest on the circle.
Exterior: (a) A youth running to right between two horses which rear up facing inwards towards him: he is wreathed, and exactly in the attitude of the youth in interior; in each hand he holds the long rein of one horse. On the right an eagle flying to left. Above the scene HIΠΠOKPITOΣ, Ίππόκριτος.
(b) Remains of what appears to be a similar scene. Only the left hand horse (except its head and part of left foreleg and tail) and the right foot of a human figure apparently running to right are preserved; beside this foot is what appears to be either the foot of another horse (to left) or an end of drapery. On the left above the scene is the commencement of an inscription: Π......
Purple is used for the wreaths, reins, and inscriptions. No inner markings. The exterior scenes are flanked by large palmettes which issue from a tendril with small trefoil under the handles.
