Curator's comments
NA-Analysis conducted in 2004 by Prof. H. Mommsen (Helmholtz-Institut, Bonn) shed no further light on the geographical classification of the fragment; it does not belong to the known Milesian, Samian, Ephesian, Cnidian or North Ionian groups. The Lotus flower decoration and similarity to Fikellura ware suggests it could be from South Ionia. (S. Weber)
Findspot number "29 X" scratched onto the reverse of the fragment.
