Terracotta figure of a slave preparing food in a mortarium.
A slave seated with a mortarium in his lap, macerating food (including onions?) with his right hand and rubbing his eye with his left. He wears a short tunic passing over his right shoulder. There are indications of maker's stamps on the mortarium. A pierced lug is behind his neck. The back is plain and largely lost, together with the lower legs.
Hollow; two-piece mould. Brown Nile silt; overall brown slip.
