Body sherd of Chian Grand Style pottery light chalice; creamy white slip; interior glazed black with band of added white zigzags between white bands; exterior: painted decoration consisting of warrior to right; part of neck and shoulder with added red beard, red garment with border of brown dots between dilute lines, holding a round shield with brown dots between lines on rim and part of brown whirligig device.

- Curator's comments
- Although Lemos does not specifically place this sherd in her Group with the Filling Ornament, and there is no evidence for any filling ornament, like most sherds from this group, the male is depicted in outline, not with coloured skin. Perhaps therefore it does belong in this group.
