Gold finger-ring.
The ring consists of two parts fixed together with a hinge secured by gold pins (one is a modern replacement); (a) below is a hoop with projecting setting beneath, in which is inserted a small circular convex amethyst; the ends of the hoop are incised, and above is soldered a pear-shaped garnet and an amethyst in box-setting; (b) the upper part consists of an oblong hexagon surmounted by a convex oval amethyst in raised setting.

Several others rings of this type come from archaeological contexts, from Pelinna in Thessaly, Greece, and Eretria. The example from Pelinna was found in a tomb with pottery dated to a the second half of the second century BC.

- The ring is in good condition except for a few minor scratches. One of the gold pins has been replaced.
