- Pasted onto the first page of the album is a letter from Halsey Ralph Ricardo to the Keeper of the Department of Greek and Roman Antiquities in the British Museum: "January 19th 1908 / 13, Bedford Square, London, W.C. / Dear Mr Smith / I am much touched by the appreciative way which you and the Museum trustees have accepted my father's drawings. It is a pleasure to me to think that they are in such keeping. In case you care to add a memorandum as to the authorship of the drawings - here are the particulars: - drawings made on the spot by Harry Ralph Ricardo (1823-1860) for some time (1845-1850) an Associate RIBA. / Yours sincerely / Halsey Ralph Ricardo"
