See Giesen 2001, 68ff for a catalogue of known examples of this type, including ones found in modern excavated contexts, along with a dicussusion of their distribution and chronology (pp. 70-76). This type has been found in tombs with material ranging from Cypro-Geometric I down to Roman times, but most of the narrower contexts suggest a date range in the later Cypro-Geometric and Cypro-Archaic periods. The objects that were found with the present item do not help to refine the date as they potentiall span the whole CG and CA periods.
