Curator's comments
Further details on the Foundry Hoard can be found in Catling 1964, 278-281 (though the present item is not illustrated), Matthäus 1985, 41-45 and in Catling's overview in the Ancient Cyprus in the British Museum ORC. The Cypro-Minoan inscription, previously overlooked, was first described and illustrated in Matthäus 1983 though was omitted from subsequent works on the script. Biibliography: Matthäus, H. 1983, 'Kypro-Minoische shriftmarken aus Enkomi', Kadmos XXII/2, 137-50.
