- For other examples of cat pendants - generally a reference to the Egyptian goddess Bastet, but also to Mut - from Amathus and a discussion of their significance, see Clerc 1991, 120-1. Lagarce (in Clerc et al. 1976, 167-74) provides a useful overview of the use and significance of Egyptianizing amulets and scarabs on Cyprus which often differ from those found in Egyptian contexts.
