Description
Terracotta figurine, probably female, of a votary, made in the 'snowman' technique; wheel-made or turned with applied details; solid cylindrical body splaying at the base; the protruding belly and parallel curving ridges below may suggest a pregnant female wearing a long garment with an overfold, though no other details of clothing are shown; the breasts are applied pellets; the long arms are stretched along the body; the figure wears double earrings (or ear-caps?), a loose necklace with a circular ornament on the chest, and a conical cap decorated with a crescent, a disc and circular ornaments; made of buff clay decorated with red and black paint: red bands on the arms, eyes rendered in black.
