Pottery dish or platter in Bichrome Red ware; wheel-made; shallow, conical body on a slightly raised disc base; flat everted rim. Made of fairly fine buff clay, with black to brown, red and white painted decoration: the interior rim is covered with a band of fine concentric circles on a white ground, while the middle section comprises white and brown/black concentric on a red ground; the centre is defined by a circle of white dots on a dark ground; the exterior is entirely covered in a finely drawn spiral, mainly red on red ground but with some black, suggesting that the vessel did not fire completely. The vessel is largely complete, except for a a small restored part of the rim, but repaired from fragments.
