Description
Fragment from the bow of a terracotta model warship; hand-made; the surviving portion consists of the curving hull terminating in a pointed ram, behind which is a thwart; projecting stem above with a fish-tail end; made of buff clay with no apparent traces of painted decoration.

Curator's comments
Karageorghis and Westerberg (op. cit.) both suggest that this is a non-joining part of the same model as 1894,11-1.291. The associated objects suggest a date in the 6th century BC.
