Pottery: White-ground alabastron (perfume-bottle).
(a) An ephebos in a bordered himation and a fillet leans forward against a staff, holding out his hand, of which he snaps the finger and thumb towards a dog which comes to him. Above him hang an aryballos and sponge. In the field, +ΑΙΡΙΠΠΟΣ KAΛΟΣ, Χαίριππος καλός.
(b) A nude ephebos standing to left, holding in right a hurling-rod (?) upright, looks round to right, resting left hand on hip. On right are two similar rods leant crosswise against the background. In the field, inscription as before.
Severe style. Very fine black outline, with inner markings in brown; hair in black silhouette, with edging of locks in brown. Eye in archaic type, the pupil against the inner angle. Below, a band of key pattern; above, a band consisting of seven rows of chequers, black and white.
