Pottery jar ('amphora') in Red Polished III ware; handmade; squat globular body and a round base and wide flaring neck with four pierced projections on the rim; pair of opposing handles with round sections set diagonally mid-body; pair of pierced lugs on the junction of neck and body; fine buff clay covered with a burnished red slip; white-filled incised decoration: concentrics, zig-zags, lozenges, bands of horizontal and vertical parallel lines; surface worn and accreted in places.

- The group donated by Warren was orignally described by Smith (1888, 266) and later by Walters (1897, 71-3 and fig. 9).
The horizontal handles on this vessel are not common in the RP repertoire. An RP vessel with similar handles and shape was found in Ayia Paraskevi Tomb 8a (Kromholz 1982, 38, 115 and fig. XIX). A vessel of comparable shape was found in a tomb excavated in the Ayia Paraskevi cemetery in 2000, classified as RP III and with similar rim projections (see Georgiou 2002, 51 and fig. 1 (Tomb 25, no. 3) with references to further parallels). More recently, a very similar example - with modelled figues on the rim - was found in Tomb 50 (Georgiou 2013, 86 and fig. 6).
