Closest parallel for this small fragment are two mid 6th century BC examples, one from a Kamiros tomb, BM 1861,1024.7, and BM 1852,0112.6, possibly purchased in Etruria. Both originally thought to be of Rhodian origin, like this example (Higgins 1954: 44-5; 1959: 23). However, Jones' Optical Emission Spectroscopy analysis of this object places it within his Ionian B group. Same fabric as BM1888,0601.752 and BM1888,0601.752a. Probably same vessel as BM1888,0601.752.c.
