Curator's comments
According to Cook in the British Museum's CVA, there is no known comparable piece. Cook believed that the "extraordinary incompetence of the drawing" suggested that the piece "was made in the locality of Tell Dafana"; however, NAA by Hans Mommsen (Bonn) indicates that the piece was made in the same place as most of the situlae.
