Egyptian terracotta figure of woman with basket on head. Head broken from a figure of a kanephoros: a woman with wavy hair, which is parted in the middle with locks falling towards her shoulder, and who wears a narrow fillet. Her right hand survives to support a tall cylindrical basket on top of her head; incuse details of the basket are well shown. The back is plain. Hollow, from two-piece mould, with traces of paint: orange-pink on her hair and hand; cream and pink on the basket. Brown Nile silt, with abundant fine gold mica, quartz and white inclusions.
