Head of a terracotta figurine of a bearded male warrior wearing a cap with side flaps. Hollow, mould-made. He has a thick short curly beard painted black; the lower end is broken away but enough survives to sugegst it was pointed. His eyebrows are 'feathered' (i.e. incised) and painted black; the face has been painted red; the conical cap or helmet is decorated all over with close spirals to indicate patterns cut in leather, the front part is depressed and has maeander borders incised and painted red down the sides and along the forehead; at the peak is a piece projecting and falling behind with a moulded ring around it.

- Curator's comments
- The fine detailing is unusual on small figurines but there are numerous parallels in the medium- and large-scale statues from the workshops of Idalion and Salamis in particular. The body would probably have shown the individual in a number of poses and constumes - an angle-length tunic with mantle or a short-sleeved corselet with the figure holding an offering or his hand againss the chest, or else with a sword in a scabbard hanging on a bandolier. See Karageorghis Coroplastic III for a wide range of examples from different parts of the island.
