- Description
-
Bronze figurine of a man in Egyptian costume and pose, probably representing a votary or perhaps the Phoenician god Reshef; he stands with his left leg slightly forward (foot missing), the right leg is missing below the upper thigh and is now supported on a modern block; his clenched right hand is held by the side, his right fist to his chest; he wears a kilt whose folds are incised, and a belt marked with four horizontal lines; the conical cap or helmet ends in a small knob: it is divided in two by vertical incisions, incised triangles are marked on the front and back; curving lines on the neck seem to indicate a pectoral or necklace, while incisions on both upper arms may represent armlets.
