- Description
-
Part of limestone model, possibly a depiction of a potter or bread-maker working at a wheel (body missing); long rectangular base with curved corners and a slightly convex upper surface; at one end is an oval table or stand with concave sides, possibly a potters wheel or work bench; a pair of hands, broken away at the wrists, is kneading a lump of material; a pair of feet is preserved on the back of the stand: the left foot is placed further forward than the right; the position of feet and hands suggests that the body was leaning forward; the hands and feet are schematically rendered, with simple incision for digits; band of pink paint around the base, and the support and top of the work-standthe topsurvives around the edge of the stand.
