Pottery: red-figured pelike.
(a) Perseus fleeing with the head of Medusa. Perseus, in a short chiton embroidered on the body with crosses, winged endromides, and a winged conical helmet, flies with long strides to right, holding out on his left forearm the wallet (kibisis), out of which protrudes a purple patch, either the blood or hair of Medusa; in his right is the harpè. In front of his head, Πέρσης κάλος (or καλώς).
(b) Medusa, a winged female figure in a short tied chiton, falls headless to right upon her left hand and knee on raised ground to right; her body is en face, and she raises her right hand. From her neck blood gushes out.
Drawing of good period. Purple inscriptions and blood. Fine brown inner markings and upper folds of chiton in b. Eye in developed profile type. Below a, key pattern; below b, maeander; above each side, egg pattern.
