- Description
-
Core-formed glass amphoriskos and two loose fragments.
Opaque orange and opaque white trails, translucent dark green body and base-disc, colour of handles not ascertainable.
Narrow rim-disc, bevelled inward, with tool-marks on upper and under surfaces; longish, cylindrical neck, joining shoulder in gentle curve; ovoid body, tapers, from shoulder, rapidly to a point. Ends in base disk with convex edge. Two thin handles with vertical grooving, dropped on at shoulder, rise vertically until curved inward to join neck well below rim.
Marvered orange and white trails begin together at rim and wind downward until orange ceases just below middle of body, whence white continues alone to bottom. Trails in simple spirals on neck and shoulder and in upright festoons below this in fifteen vertical strips.
Formed on a core; rim-disc, handles and base-knob drawn on and tooled; trails drawn on, marvered (except on lip) and combed.
