Description
Inscribed limestone tombstone of Timocrates: a bearded man reclines at a banquet, attended by a diminutive servant. A veiled woman sits at the foot of the couch. Below the Greek inscription is part of a mounted warrior, possibly a Thracian warrior-god. The borders of the relief are decorated with vines, and the sides with snakes. The inscription states that the monument was erected by Timocrates for his wife, his son and himself.
