Pottery Protocorinthian alabastron decorated with a lion and two griffins; wheel-made; depressed-ovoid body on a rounded base; small mouth with a sloping rim; pierced lug handle at the top; made of fine buff clay and slip, with painted decoration which has fired black; also added purple paint on the animal bodies; details of the figures are incised.
The main frieze shows two griffins separated by stylised tree-like motif; a lion occupies the space between the two mythical beasts; filling motifs in the field. Above the main scene is a frieze of stylised floral designs; below simpler motifs composed of dots separated by S-shaped strokes. Simple rays on the vase, and tongues on the lip.
