Description
Pottery: Campanian red-figured squat lekythos. Design red and white on black ground, with yellow accessories. Above, egg-moulding; below, all round, wave-pattern; at the back, palmette and tendrils. Aphrodite riding on the swan: Aphrodite reclines on the swan with right arm round its neck, looking up to right; she wears a close embroidered cap, long chiton, himation floating behind, and sandals; the swan flies to left, and is painted white with yellow markings.
