Red-figured pottery lepaste with lid.
Designs red on black ground, with accessories of white and yellow. On the body, maeander; on the top of the cover, a rosette; round the edge, wave-pattern.
On the cover: (a) Female figure seated to left on an Ionic capital painted white, with hair in a bunch, open embroidered cap, earrings, necklace, bracelets, long girt chiton, with a stripe down the front, and white shoes; in right hand a cista containing fruit, painted white with black bands, in left a tympanon. In front of her is a large basket containing fruit, ornamented with maeander; behind, a fan and an embroidered taenia.
(b) Eros kneeling to left, with hair in a bunch, open embroidered cap, earrings, necklace, bracelets, and white shoes; in right hand a mirror, in left a wreath. Before him, a flower; behind him, a fan; ground-lines indicated. Between the designs, palmettes each side.
