Pottery: red-figure squat lekythos.
Eudaemonia and other figures. Eudaemonia (Good Fortune) is seated to left on raised ground, with long sleeved chiton, mantle over her lap embroidered with crosses, necklace of beads, bracelets, and a sphendone decorated with spirals; over her is inscribed her name, EYΔAIMONA, Έύδαίμον(ί)α. She looks to right, holding in both hands a string of beads towards a wreathed youth in a bordered chlamys, fastened on the chest with a brooch, and laced sandals, who stands in three-quarter face, looking at her, resting his left on his hip, and holding upright in his right hand two spears with the central thong (αγκύλη) attached. Over him, his name, POΛΥΙ…ΟΣ, Πολυ[είδ]ος (?). Between these figures a tree rises from the ground, and above it hangs a wreath. On the right, a woman in long chiton with apoptygma, necklace of beads, bracelets, and knotted hair, stands in three-quarter face to left, holding up in both hands a fillet; above her, ΚΑΛΗ, καλη. On the left, Eros flies downwards towards Eudaemonia, extending both hands towards her head. Behind him, Pandaesia (the Wedding Feast) stands in three-quarter face to right, holding forward with her left an unfastened wreath; on her right, resting against her breast, is a fluted phiale containing a bunch of grapes, a pomegranate, and another fruit; she wears a chiton with sleeves, caught up on one side so that it leaves part of her right leg bare, a sphendone decorated with egg pattern, bracelets, earrings, and necklace of beads (faded); over her is her name, ΠΑΝΔΑΙΣΙΑ, Πανδαισία. Last on left comes Hygieia (Health), who wears a long sleeved chiton, and is putting on an himation embroidered with crosses; holding one end against her waist, she draws the other end forward over her left shoulder; her hair is in short irregular curls, and confined with a broad band decorated with egg pattern, and she has earrings, necklace of beads, and bracelets. Above her, ΥΓΙΕΙΑ, Ϋγίεια.
